We now offer two types of food sensitivity test using pin-prick blood samples at The Backbone Clinic Southgate!

In Clinic Food Sensitivity Test (59 foods tested) with practitioner. Results in the session. 60mins £120.

This can identify potential "problem foods" for the individual, as elevated IgG antibodies may be linked to inflammatory conditions within the body, manifesting in a range of health issues. Your practitioner will be able to advise you regarding things you can then do after to help you feel your best.

How It Works...

This food sensitivity test uses ELISA technology to detect the presence of IgG antibodies to 59 common foods. There is no need to send your sample off to a lab as the test can be carried out in clinic, giving results within 40 minutes. This can identify potential "problem foods" for the individual, as elevated IgG antibodies may be linked to inflammatory conditions within the body, manifesting in a range of health issues.

The Process...

The reaction tray is spotted with food protein extracts. A small blood sample is taken from a finger-prick and is then diluted and added to the tray.

In subsequent steps the use of detector and developer solutions identifies the presence of food antibodies through the appearance of one or more blue spots on the tray. Reference to the food layout plan allows the foods causing antibody production to be identified. Once identified, the trigger foods may be eliminated from your diet. Your practitioner will be able to advise you regarding things you can then do after to help you feel your best.

How It Works...

The FoodPrint is the name of our comprehensive laboratory service and requires samples to be sent off to the lab, where they are analysed and results returned within 10 working days. This food sensitivity test utilises a state of the art immunoassay based on microarray technology to detect food-specific IgG antibodies to 220 different foods. The technology is more advanced than that employed by the in clinic food sensitivity tests, as it uses microarray technology which enables a more sensitive test to be performed. Due to this, a greater number of foods can be tested.

The Process...

Your clinic will order the postage package on payment for the test. Once you have received this, a pin-prick blood sample is required. You can collect the blood sample at home yourself (all the information and equipment is provided in the pack) and post within the same day.  Results are available within 10 working days.
