Poor circulation is a symptom of many disorders. It is common in people who suffer heart problems, thyroid issues, being overweight, as a side effect of medication or through pregnancy and some people are just born with a slow circulation,

 

Symptoms of Poor Circulation

  • Cold extremities (hands, feet)
  • Numbness in hands and feet
  • Swelling in arms/legs
  • Dry skin
  • Skin discoloration/paleness

Self Help for Poor Circulation

  • Hot and cold therapy (eg. When showering, finish shower with alternating hot and cold sprays on the body and finish with cold)
  • Regular cardiovascular exercise. This can be something as simple as a 20-minute walk every day
  • If the circulation is specific to legs, keeping them raised when lying down or sitting
