Meet The Backbone Osteopath Team and Practitioners!

Ayshe Ibrahim

BSc (Hons) Ost Med, DO, ND - Clinic Director and Principle Osteopath.
Ayshe qualified from The British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003 and has experience treating patients of all ages and fitness from :babies, pregnant women and athletes. She caters every treatment to the patient’s individual needs.

I believe completely in Osteopathy being a holistic treatment that addresses every structure of the body. I feel that every patient is unique and respond differently to treatment modalities, which is reflected in my treatments.

Ayshe works structurally, but also includes visceral and Cranial techniques (Sutherland methods, intra-oral releases, myofascial release work, balanced ligament tension work), Neil Asher Frozen Shoulder techniques, in addition to ultrasound, interferential therapies alongside taping techniques and Dry needling.

I advise on exercises, stretches, hydrotherapy techniques, provide ergonomic/ postural advice, and dietary advice as I feel lifestyle changes are important in assisting recovery and ensuring prevention of recurrence.

Ayshe has a keen interest in the treatment of pregnant women and has taken many courses through the years to expand her knowledge in these areas. Ayshe works closely with personal trainers advising on ways to assist athletes suffering from various conditions though training and raising Osteopathy awareness. In her spare time, Ayshe has taught Osteopathic techniques at the Irish College of Osteopathic Medicine, writes health articles and gives talks to local community groups to help raise awareness of the benefits of Osteopathy and medicine free management of pain.
Ayshe is also a qualified NLP practitioner and yoga therapist (trained in the clinical application of yoga). She has a keen interest in the mind and body connection. She is currently focusing her development in Women’s health. She also has studied the effects of stress, anxiety and depression on the body and health and runs a free weekly online Remedial Movement Class to support patients and the public.

Ayshe works at The Southgate Branch Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays. Click here to read more about Ayshe…

Reena Depala

M.Ost – Associate Osteopath

Reena qualified from Swansea University and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy. She has experience in helping patients who are living with conditions which could be affecting not only the muscular-skeletal system but all other systems in the body too. Reena uses a variety of Osteopathy techniques adapting to each individual, including neuromuscular techniques, mobilisations, lymphatic drainage, strain counter strain and many more, which all target to relieve any stress or tension in tissues.

The body is capable of self- healing. As an Osteopath I believe we simply aid in this process through being holistic, by not only addressing issues with the body but also, helping in managing lifestyle, day to day stresses and overall supporting each individual as a whole.

Reena enjoys taking time in getting to know her patients’ needs and is committed to delivering the best care possible. Her special interests include treating back pain ranging from neck pain and headaches to lower back pain and has developing interests in women’s health and the mind- body connections. Reena plans to do further courses to enhance her learning and management strategies to allow her patients to live pain free.

Outside of treating and helping patients, she enjoys keeping mind/body fit through practicing mindfulness meditation, attending fitness classes, hiking and reading.
